Motorists face record diesel prices
Jan 2012 - Motorists are facing record diesel prices at the pumps after instability in the Persian Gulf led to an unprecedented rise in wholesale costs. The average price of diesel on UK forecourts hit 141p a litre over the weekend. Experts predict that by the end of January the cost of diesel will top the 143p a litre peak it reached on May 9 last year.

UK becomes eighth European country to inject biomethane into the gas grid
Oct 2010 After Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland, the UK now becomes the eighth country in Europe injecting biomethane into the national gas grid. The first biomethane to grid project completed in the UK was created by NGVA Europe member CNG Services. At the Thames Water Didcot sewage works site, anaerobic digesters are used as part of the sewage treatment process. Biogas produced at the site undergoes a clean-up and upgrading process using a water wash technology provided by Chesterfield Biogas.


Autogas - the third automotive fuel
Sept 2010 OEMs and governments are being encouraged to make greater use of LP Gas as a proven and cleaner alternative to petroleum and diesel by the Paris-based World LP Gas Association (WLPGA). It says the use of Autogas has been growing steadily during the past 10 years, with volumes almost doubling. To support this growth, WLPGA formed the Global Automotive Industry Network (GAIN), with Inigo Palacio Prada as its Chairman.
